strawberries for the one year old!

On Miller's first birthday, we spent the day in Durham. We went out to Lyon Farms with some of our family and spent a little while picking some beautiful strawberries, then we headed downtown for lunch at Rise. It was a gorgeous day and Miller LOVED it, which was so fun!
Our whole crew...
This is how I spend 90% of my day, pulling things out of his mouth... in this case it was big green leaves from the strawberry
He was such a mess, we had to strip him down before we left.

strawberries!

While Scott, Mary and Keller were in town, we headed to pick strawberries at Hunter Farms. It was a beautiful morning and we enjoyed eating fresh berries all weekend.

strawberry picking

We went strawberry picking over the weekend for the first time in SC. There aren't that many strawberry fields around, but we tried out Hunter Farms, and left with lots of delicious, beautiful strawberries. The boys enjoyed picking the berries... Grayson finding the biggest ones he could and Bowen pulling any and everything (we had to stay on him). They also loved the golden retrievers that were there.
we left with only minimal strawberry stains... that's a win!

strawberry pickin'

Mom took the day off on Friday and we had a fun morning out. We went to Rise to get donuts, made a Target run and then went strawberry pickin'. With it being in the 80's, it definitely felt like a summer day and it was wonderful!

G didn't want to stop eating his donut for a picture. (And I got a strawberry bisnut... a mix of a donut and a biscuit and it was delicious).
Nona showing him the ropes and to pick the red berries...
We call these the before pictures. It didn't take him long to get messy with strawberry juice.
