Bowen: 10 months

How are we getting so close to a year? It goes SO fast!
He is 19 and a half pounds, and almost 29 inches long. Size 3 diapers and 12 month clothes.

Changing Bowen's diaper should be an olympic sport. It's a wrestling match a lot of the time.

He's been a great sleeper for the most part and sleeps from about 7:30pm-7 am and takes two 2ish hour naps during the day. Sometimes he wakes up after only an hour or so.

Bowen started this little crinkled up, nose scrunch this month... especially when he smiles.

He's been drooling like crazy for the past few days. Possibly teeth #7 and #8 coming in soon??

He started saying "mama" the day Chad left for Prague (9.5 months old).

He will say "moh" for "more" while I'm feeding him food... but only after I redirect his screaming for it.

Homeboy loves to eat and can put down some food. There's nothing he hasn't liked. He has eaten all sorts of things this month and wants nothing to do with baby food. For the most part he eats what we eat and still makes a huge mess. I can get him to eat the pouches if we are on the go... and he has learned to do them himself which is so much easier. He still nurses 4 times a day.

He has started standing unassisted a tiny bit. He doesn't realize he's doing it (he will be holding onto something and then just let go while looking at a toy), and it isn't for long (just a few seconds) but it shows me he's getting sturdier.

He took his first few self-initiated steps just a few days ago. We were all sitting in the den before Chad left for work and Bowen was standing up against the ottoman. I said "he looks like he's really thinking about how to get to the couch" and sure enough he took about 3 steps and walked over to it.  It was fun that we were all sitting there watching. I think Grayson is his biggest cheerleader.

He loves to tackle and if Chad and G are playing on the floor, Bowen acts so excited and makes a beeline to them and climbs on top.

He also loves to climb. He goes straight to steps, tries to stand on pillows and get on the couch and we can't keep him off the fireplace. We've just recently started teaching him to go down feet first... if he would learn that, it would make our job a lot easier and him a lot safer.

He still has the shrillest squeal when he's mad. If we are in the car it is ear piercing.

Grayson and Bowen play together/interact more and more each day... and although there's lots of sharing/patience/tears that comes with that, it's the sweetest to watch.

Bowen is a joy and we are so thankful for him!
