Miller: 7 years old

I can not believe Miller is 7!

He is 44 pounds. He can still wear size 5 clothes, but also 6-7. He wears a size 13 shoe.

He loses teeth all the time!

So much of what was true when he was 2 years old, is still true now! He still looooooves dogs, loves playing with fish, loves to snuggle, loves things in small form!

He can get completely lost in games with Bowen. They have 3 different "games" they play together and they just play for hours and hours. One is with "little legos", one is with picasso tiles and little animals, and one is with their stuffed animals that they call "neighborhood".

He plays outside all the time. He loves to catch insects or lizards or frogs. He loves to play basketball and football, and almost always plays with kids twice his size. He holds his own! He also gets sooo dirty. I have to rinse the tub or shower out bc there is usually a ring of dirt when he gets out.

He could care less about reading himself, but loves to be read to and loves his Yoto player.

He is still a big Jaguars/Trevor Lawrence fan.

He took his first plane ride at 6.5 and flew out west. We hiked Zion, Bryce and the Grand Canyon and he rocked it. He did so great, and we did some big hikes! I was so proud of his lack of complaining and not asking to be on shoulders! Navajo Loop, Buckskin Gulch slot canyons, Scout Lookout, and the Narrows in very cold water!

He wants a dog soooo bad! He loves other peoples dogs!

He makes us laugh, sometimes makes us crazy, and we can't imagine life without him. What a gift he is!

Miller: 6 years old

Our baby is SIX! Six feels like such a shift for me from little boy to bigger kid. Miller is still very much the baby in so many ways.

He is about 40 pounds, wears 5t clothes, and has grown so much this last year!

He lost his first tooth at Nana and Papa's house about 2 months ago. He was reallllllllly hoping it would come out when Nana would be the tooth fairy.

He still loves his people fiercely. He has certain people he just attaches himself to, and those people better watch out for an aggressive love (Lake, Josiah, K-Bob, Selah, Brady, his grandparents, Chester, baby Logan... to name a few current attachments)

A phrase I'm using constantly with him right now is "no means no". You don't have to keep asking multiple times!

About once a day he still uses a phrase something like "I think we need to get some snuggles in". And at night as we put him to bed "Can you get in my bed? Like fully in?"

He still loves to be held (though that's getting harder). Birth order fascinates me because Grayson was never held at 5 or 6.

He currently loves his 2 smallest stuffed animals (Tiny Reggie and Little Bucky), he loves anything in small "baby" form, to ride his bike, playing outside, playing football, listening to his yoto

Life with Miller is never dull! He keeps us laughing and on our toes. He is a JOY to us!

Miller: 5 years old

Our baby is FIVE!

It amazes me thinking of the difference in 5 year old Grayson and 5 year old Miller... Miller is still held often, and 5 year old Grayson NEVER was held.... he had 2 younger brothers! And just the whole different life Miller has, in running around with big kids. It's really crazy!
Miller seems like he has grown so much in the last few months! He seems to weigh more, seems longer and just so much older. He is weighing about 35 pounds (9th%), 3 feet 5 inches tall (20th%) and is still in mostly 4t clothes.

He is still such a little snuggler. There are times where he just needs to get his little physical touch tank full. He will just wallow in our laps or need "cheek to cheek time" where he just hugs our neck.

He loves to meet peoples dogs and will run up and ask every time we see a dog "can I pet your dog?" (yearssss of training to ask before petting!).

He graduated out of speech therapy with Ms. Milca a few weeks ago. He has come so far and I'm so proud of him!

He also graduated out of the toddler bed last week. He's got his own big boy bed in the boys room now!

He still loves playing with a fish. The smaller the better. He likes to play football and frisbee and can throw and catch pretty well (he plays with lots of older kids). He loves to ride his bike and listen to music and sing loudly.

He will attach himself to people quickly. He might meet someone and 5 minutes later he's declaring them his best friend. He loves his people aggressively and we have lotssssss of conversations about self control and obedience, even when we are excited.

If Chad is ever hugging me, Miller will snarl his face and growl and wedge himself between us and say "get off my mommy!"

He always asks "How many tomorrows until....?"

He wanted a baseball party for his 5th birthday because "baseball is my favorite sport". So we invited our families and had a baseball game! It was a beautiful day for it!

Things he says that we won't correct:

-"Damember"- for remember

-"fork"- for fort

-"the Trolt Lions"- for Detroit Lions

We love this little guy! He can still have us so frustrated with his whining one minute, and laughing so hard the next. Lord, may we point him to YOU, in the hard times and the good!

Miller: 4 and a half years old

He is 33 pounds, and in 4t clothes.

He is such a little snuggler.

Miller loves people FIERCELY. I remind him often to be gentle and not attack people with his love and excitement for them. It can be exhausting to parent him around people he loves dearly.

He loves to catch lizards and bugs and can play with them for hours. He also still loves fish... the smaller the better.

He did so good with putting his face in and swimming without floaties this summer!

He says the funniest things. We were carving pumpkins with friends and he carved a "forehead" on his tiger paw and then walked over to our friends and said "bet your pumpkin doesn't have a forehead!" or when he asked to look a photo on my phone, he said "can I see that picture on your phone? but I'll also hold it in my heart" or "will you read me this book, because you lovvvvve to read to me"

He sings to me a lot during the day. A current one on repeat is "Mommy, oh Mommy, you're my favorite in the holy entire world."

He loves: riding his bike, his best friend Lake (or "little hot tub"), his bear Basketball, playing games with his stuffed animals, Bowen playing with him, dogs

Miller: 4 years old

He is in 3t and 4t clothes and 31 pounds. He seems to have grown so much this last year! In size, vocabulary, skills, everything. He went from a 2t to a 4t! He's always been such a little guy, but grew from the 5th to 13th percentile in weight. He's 3 feet, 3 inches tall.

He has 100% given up naps and has transitioned to "room time" each afternoon.

He recently decided he wants to be called "Little Howler" and will correct you, "It's not Mil-Mil, it's Little Howler"

He said for months that he wanted a Chick-fil-A milkshake for his birthday. So thats what he got!

He has 2 neighbor dogs that (pretty recently) he has decided that he loves... he used to be so timid around them! You can often find him playing with Barney or Cooper, and I think they love him just as much! We think they are the absolute best dogs to have (and as close as he'll ever get to having one).

He exclaims with such passion "I don't like people laughing at me!" if anyone laughs at what he says or does.

The Dentons gave us a 2-wheel pedal bike that was the perfect size for him and after 1 afternoon of practice, he took off. He rides around the cul-de-sac every single day, and it is one of his most favorite things to do.

He is our most physical touch needing child. He often wants to just be close, curl up in our lap, or snuggle.

He is our wild, silly, joyful little 4 year old!

Miller: 3 and a half

 Oh my goodness, this kid...

he is a NUT

He is about 28 pounds and has moved mostly into 3t clothes, but still wears a handful of 2t

He has almost completely given up naps, he falls asleep maybe twice a month. He still has 1.5 - 2 hours of rest time in the afternoon.

He can be w.h.i.n.y. and it drives us bananas.

He gets fixated on one person doing things for him. It's normally me... he only wants me to bring him his breakfast plate, or me to buckle him in. BUT if Nona or Nana are around, I better not touch those things... "I want Nana to bring me my plate!"

He has the LARGEST personality. He is so stinkin funny and for as crazy as he can drive us, he will have us rolling 3 minutes later.

He declared our friend Josh his best friend the first time he came to small group (he's 24) he asked what his name was and then said "oh, you're my best friend" and still declares it all the time

He is the happiest when he has a fish to play with. At the pond or at the beach, he can play with a bucket of fish for hours. Singing to them, talking to them, picking them up.

He loves all his cul-de-sac "best friends" (mostly teenagers who are SO SWEET to him) A few weeks ago he called over to one of them....
Miller: "Gary, can you come out to play?"
Gary: "Not right now, Miller, I'm chillin inside"
Miller: "oh, when you're done chillin, can you come play?"

Some of the things he says:
-He calls alligators and crocodiles "crocagators"
-"I so hungee"
-"Mommy, listen to my belly"... (then in a high pitched voice) "I'm full"
-"It's nuggle time"
-"You're my sweet little Mommy"
-"yep a da roo ski" (no idea)

We love him so, so much! Life with him is NEVER dull!

Miller: 3 years old

Our baby is THREE years old! And he's still very much the baby :)

He is the silliest little boy and brings us so much JOY! He keeps us laughing and has so. much. personality.
He is 27 pounds. He is our smallest boy at this age and wears all 2t clothes.

I think he has given up naps. I'm so bummed. G and B slept until they were 4.5, so this seems wayyyyy too soon. He's still pretty good about having rest time in his bed for about 2 hours and holding it together until bedtime without napping. In the last 2 months, he's only napped a handful of times.

He says "undie-wears" and I will be so sad when he learns the right way.

He LOVES fish. Especially "baby fish".
He still sleeps in the pack and play.... but will move to a big bed soon. He sleeps great and loves his "little room in the bafroom" (he sleeps in our closet). Why mess with a good thing? haha

He is awesome on the balance bike, and I have no doubt he will soon jump on a regular bike easily.

Every morning when I get done teaching (I have lipstick on) and I pick him up and try to kiss him, he pulls away and says "nooooo, you have chap-stips on"

He earned himself the title of "first busted open ____" of any of our boys. He busted the back of his head open 1 week ago by jumping off the couch and hitting the coffee table just right. Grayson started screaming and when we rushed in the sunroom, we saw blood everywhere. Chad got the bleeding under control, and our friend (and nurse) Sammi who lives close came over and fixed him up. SO, SO thankful for her! It has healed so great and is almost cleared up.
He wants to sing "Jesus Loves Me" every night before bed.

He also has collected quite a few things he wants to sleep with and is particular in how he wants them tucked in beside him. He wants to be tucked in with his "little blankie, big blankie, then taggie on top".

He is opinionated... especially about who brings him things. He wants me to bring his breakfast plate each morning (Chad better not try to put in on the table in front of him). But if one of his grandparents is around, he wants them to do things.

Over the last few months, he has mostly sat with us through church services. I still can't believe we make it through. I have a bag of crafts and activities and they've all done so well, but Miller amazes me. We finish an hour and a half service where I didn't have to get up with him once during the sermon, and I'm amazed. (Now we are probably a little distracting to the people behind us, but kids have to learn, right?)

He loves his bros, riding in daddy's car, driving the gator, his orange Clemson hoodie, caterpillars and worms, playing with a fish, "Tiny" his stuffed dog, throwing stuff in the pond, playing cars, lego duplos, swinging
TWO is a an exhausting, non-stop age... but SO much fun and SO cute. We will miss 2 year old Miller but can't wait to see what 3 year old Miller is like :)

Miller: 2 and three quarters

We are getting closer and closer to THREE!
He is 26 pounds.

He's napping for about 2 hours each day and sleeps 7:30 - around 6:45. He's mostly in 2t clothes but still wears some 12-18 month or 18 month.

We moved into a new house and his pack and play is in our closet (that is in the bathroom). He's so proud of his little room! He tells everyone about his "little room in the bafroom" in his "new, new, new house". I know it's coming soon, but I'm in no rush to move him to a bed when he's sleeping so well.

I think he's finally completely potty trained. After about a week of telling me "I going pee pee in my diaper", (clearly aware of it!) he started going to the potty instead and hasn't had an accident in a week or so.

After moving to our new house, we got the balance bike out of attic and he is becoming a pro! It's amazing how much better he has gotten in about a month. He cruises around the cul-de-sac and has so much fun on it.

Miller wears his emotions in his shoulders. When he is sad, they immediately slump so far over and he does the saddest little walk. We can't help but laugh! When he's crying, we will also ask him if he hurt his leg or something (usually because he was trampled by an older brother) and he'll reply "no dat hurt my heart"
He says the same two made-up words all the time when he's being silly... "boo boo ba ba" and "ya ya". He's nuts.

He also talks about his "super powers" a lot. "Yeah, I do dat... with my super powers"

His response to lots of things is "no, I big boy"

He ends lots of sentences with "yeah... on Sunday". We have no idea why....
"Miller, do you need a snack?"... "yeah... on Sunday"
"yeah... I read that book... on Sunday"

He recently wants to wear "his football clothes" everyday. Which is like 3 shirts that have a sports team on them and a few pairs of sweatpants that have a line down the side.

There is a 15 year old boy that lives next door to us (who is so sweet to Miller!) and Miller always tells us "Boone is my best friend"

He keeps us laughing. He can be so funny.

He makes friends with anyone wherever we go. If we walk by someone randomly in the store, he will walk up and sstick out his hand and say "good morning". He can win peoples hearts quickly (and is also such a great tool for getting us into conversations with people while we are out. haha)

We've told him several things he can do when he's older and he will randomly remind us... "yeah... when I four I chew gum like my bros". He seems completely ok with this answer!

He currently loves us to sing him Jesus Loves Me or Wheels on the Bus before bed.

Miller: 2.5 years old

2.5 years of sweetness with our crazy boy!
Aunt Mary got some pictures of you when we were in Durham last week :)

Sloooowly moving into 2T clothes, but can still wear all of your 18 month stuff... and some of your 12-18 month shirts. Still in size 3 diapers when we put those on you.

I tried to potty train you right before 2.5... you did pretty good, but I'm not confidant in you only in undies... you are 100% pooping in the potty (have been for months) but in undies you seem to have some pee pee accidents. But in diapers you almost never have a wet diaper and seem to tell me more when you need to pee.. so who knows? I think you're on the right track...
You moved from Clemson, SC to Charlotte, NC

Your eyes are so expressive, but also you carry your emotions in your shoulders. If you're sad, you slump your shoulders so low.

You run to Bowen for comfort when you are upset or get disciplined. It's the sweetest thing. Bowen is quick to open his arms and just hold you while you cry.

You currently love Billy Ray's Old Town Road and will randomly belt out " RIDDDDDDE can't no mo!"

Your very favorite thing might be driving the gator.

You LOVE a fish or worm or roly-poly to play with.

Whenever you need to go to the bathroom, you rap Kanye... "poop poop scoop-diddy-whoop" that is 100% from your daddy

Things you currently say:

-you add "on Sunday" to the end of a lot of sentences.... "mmm hmm, I'll ride my bike... on Sunday"

-you exclaim "mama home!" when you see me, even when we haven't been apart in weeks

-when we pull up to our missions house... "dat my new house?" or "we at our clemson house?" and you usually have an opinion on it.... "no! no! no! go my clemson house!" or "yay! my new house!"

-Anytime we ask "how old are you?"... "five" every. time.

Miller: 2 and a quarter

Miller is a NUT right now.
He is our wild man (Bowen has passed down the title)
For being our littlest guy, he seems to have gotten so big lately! 24.5 pounds. He's still in 12-18 month clothes and 18 month pjs. He's also still in size 3 diapers.

We haven't tried to potty train him, but he poops on the potty probably 75% of the time.

I feel like he is talking so well lately. He's added lots of words lately.

He lovvvves his bros.

He can be driving us bananas one minute, and have us laughing so hard the next.

He got all 4 of his molars over the last couple months.

Each night, Chad will sing silly versions of "wheels on the bus" and Miller says "no, no, no!" then sings "wheels on the bus all-a-town" in the sweetest little voice to teach him the right way.

We dropped his beloved "pappy" easily as soon as we got back from all of our travels in May.
Anytime he hides he starts yelling "peep"!

He uses pronouns wrong. "my do it", "here comes me!", "my hurt my leg"

He and Bowen have started to play together so much more lately. He still calls him "Bo Bo John"

Things Miller currently loves:
-"I-keem"... icecream
-"fish fish"
-K-Bob!!!! (Kaleb Elliott)
-bandaids for fun or sympathy bandaids if he sees someone else has one
-turning off facetime calls
-watching "round and round" ...Little Baby Bum/wheels on the bus
-riding in Daddy's car
-carrying his own backpack
-his "Kate"... lately that is what he's called EK

Miller: 2 years old!

Our littlest boy is TWO!
He weighs almost 24 pounds (6%), 33" long (22%), 12-18 month clothes, size 3 diapers, size 5 shoe

At his 2 year check up where they say they can predict their adult height, they said he will be 5'6"... sorry, Miller.

He naps for about 2 hours each day.

He is non-stop and into everything.

He might potty train himself. He will pee on the potty before baths and bed and has pooped on the potty three times this week.

He still likes to run naked. He will swing his arms and say "run!" as we take his clothes off or change his diaper.

He has loved worms this month... really, any bug.

He totally owns the baby role and loves it. He'll say "me baby!". He also asks for the "baby wing" (swing) or "baby milk" (a little mug of milk)
He is currently attached to his paci. He's only supposed to have it in his bed. He will dive into his bed, and I'll find him in there yelling for books because he wants to have his paci (and he's in his bed). He yells "pappy, mama!"

For some reason, he started calling Bowen "Bo Bo John" (we don't often use his middle name. He's gotten to where he uses it fairly often. He also says "my name?" and we say "Miller William" and he always replies "no! Mil Mil John"

Whenever we say "how old are you going to be?" he proudly exclaims "five!"

He does not like me to hold another baby/kid. SO jealous.

He also loves "baby bum" and will say "phone, baby bum" to watch his little baby songs. oh dear.

He messes up his pronouns... "my do it", Who is the baby? "mine"

some common things he says:
'"o-tay mama"
in a sing-song voice "are you Bo Bo John?"... (asking "where are you Bowen?")
"my do it"
"my turn, my turn"
"I hold"
"day doo, mama!" (thank you)

He has such a big personality and can make the funniest expressions with his eyes.

We love this little 2 year old!

and here's all 3 boys at 2 years old :)
