part 3

On Monday morning, we got up around 7, packed up the campsite and headed to hang out in Charleston for the morning. We got coffee and breakfast from a local shop called Kudu coffee and then headed to the Battery to just enjoy the morning.
We sat with the Blalock's in the big gazebo in Battery Park and drank our coffee, read and chatted it up.

The Boone's
Kevin helped Brooke practice her cheerleading jumps...

This is more like it... haha, love y'all
Is there anything better than a good book, good coffee, my sweet hubby and a beautiful morning in a pretty place? I submit there is not.
As we were walking around Tyler had to use the restroom, so he found the closest one! A port-a-potty in one of the yards of a waterfront home.
Rainbow Row
We ate at Andolini's Pizza for lunch (a place Tyler and Erin recommended).
The pizza was really good. Some of the boys got calzones.
Have you ever seen a bigger calzone?? They were massive.
This now concludes our trip to Charleston. We have already been throwing out places for next year. Cape Hatteras? Gatlinburg? I'm already looking forward to it!

Charleston camping trip... part 2

On Sunday, after we got back from the beach we headed to Charleston to walk around, see the town and have dinner.
We got cupcakes from this cute little place that Ashley recommended...
Chad and I got the mocha cupcake. It was delicious.
We hung out at the Battery

I loved all of the large porches on the homes
We ate dinner at Hymans Seafood on Sunday night
Chad and Kevin both got flounder at Hymans.

2nd Annual Camping Trip... part 1

If you remember, last year we went to Wilmington over Memorial Day weekend and spent the weekend camping. Well, back around November we began throwing around the idea of another camping trip over Memorial Day weekend 2010. We settled on Charleston and Adam booked us a campsite in Mt. Pleasant, SC. We spread the word around to see if anyone wanted to join and the Boone's, Blalock's, Harper's, Moore's and us all decided to head down to SC for the weekend.

Some of us ladies had to work Friday so the boys went down early Friday morning to (what else?) play some disc golf and set up camp. Brooke, Rach, Erin, Ashley and I all left together around 4:00 to head down to Charleston. Long story short, what SHOULD have been a 4.5 hour trip turned into a 7.5 hour trip. It was around 12:30 when we arrived at the campsite and we were a little delusional and way past tired. This sums up how we felt around 12:15 am...
After getting some rest, the ladies got up Saturday and went to the Isle of Palms beach to lay in the sun (while the boys went to a new disc golf course). Isle of Palms was a very popular place to be. I don't think I have ever seen a more crowded beach. The picture doesn't really do it justice.

We left the beach and went back to the campsite to meet the boys, shower and get ready to go to dinner and the outlets. We don't really rough it when camping. Here we are getting ready for the evening... (yes, we had electrical outlets at our campsite, hence the hair dryer and flat iron).
Our campsite/view
Marshall, Kevin and Chad shopped the Clearance rack at the outlets. I guess they have similar taste.

We ate at a little local place called Seewee for dinner.
We roasted Smores and played some games around the campfire later that night. What is a trip with friends without Catchphrase?
Sunday morning all of us got up and went to the beach.
Stay tuned for part 2 of our trip. I know you are on the edge of your seat :)
