That about sums up our first half of January! We were sick for almost the first three weeks of the year. boo. There really was only one morning of snow, but there were many COLD days. Too cold to go outside and everything was iced over. So it kind of made it easy to quarantine ourselves and stay home.
All three boys and I got a cold and it manifested itself differently each day and in different people for almost three weeks. I don't know how Chad managed to escape it, but I'm thankful he did. Bad coughs, fevers, stuffy and runny noses, an ear infection for G, strep throat for the baby, and a sinus infection for me... three antibiotics, many kleenex boxes, multiple dr visits and lots of temps taken later, we are all healthy. Praise Him!
We've been in pj's alot, spent much time at home, and even though we like to be busy, I think we've all enjoyed the slow pace recently.
(also top right, I'll miss the days when ordering them their own cup of water in the drive thru is exciting to them :) I was trying to pump their feverish bodies full of fluids)
We tried some new recipes, played lots of games, read lots of books, built cool forts, watched way more shows than normal, and wore pjs all day long.
There was a warmer day somewhere in there and we broke out of the house and went to the frozen lake. It's always good to breathe in some fresh air!
And then we had a snow day (the boys were all healthy by this point)! I don't think they were expecting us to get much, so enough to play in was a fun thing to wake up to! Chad still went to work, so it was just me and the boys to play in the snow.
snow cream and hot chocolate after playing in the snow
and when they didn't want to play outside, we brought snow inside to play with... I don't understand why this is so entertaining, but they loved stirring, scooping and "cooking" with it
and when we went for followup checkups and got clear reports, we celebrated!
