Beech Mountain 2018

We had the best time with our dear friends at Beech Mountain the last weekend of October. This was our third year doing a mountain weekend and it is a wonderful get-a-way for all of us. A couple days of the best of friends, pajamas, talking, coffee, good food, games and we all leave feeling so refreshed. All the guys are in ministry, so it's a great time for them to encourage one another, share ideas and talk church. Thankful for these friends and this weekend!
and a huge thanks to my Mom for coming to keep the boys while we were away!\

liberty hill

The Dentons invited us to join them at Liberty Hill the weekend of October 13. As we were packing up, it was the first morning we needed coats! woohoo!
We piled all the kids in one van...
....and put the dads driving the van... best idea ever!
Rare, quality, uninterrupted talk time for us!
Andrew is so sweet to Miller
 excited little boys
This is the best kind of fishing for kids. The kind where you drop your line in and immediately pull up a fish :)
 pajama party!
 These two are a mess...
Trying to get in the big bass...
 Andrew's big catch!
Chad running across the field with a rock and clippers, giddy to get the snake, is a scene I can't get out of my mind.
Out for an afternoon hunt, Matt came back successful!
Thankful to do life with these dear friends!

girls weekend!

What a treat it was to have a weekend away with these ladies in the middle of August. I'm so, so thankful we did this! It was a gift to have time together and such a get-a-way and time of refreshment. It's not easy to coordinate finding a time that works for 4 different families, or making sure our 10 kids are all set, but sooooo worth it. Ashley's sister graciously offered us her Charlotte condo and so we enjoyed lots of leisurely shopping, eating, getting ready, non-naptime afternoons, and staying out past our kids bedtime! We said often "the world is our oyster!" and enjoyed ourselves so much!
Our hubbies felt like all we did was send them pics of food we were eating, and at breakfast on Saturday, we were dying at their responses in this group text. We were getting pics of their sinks full of dirty dishes and covered in sweat from working... and we didn't feel at all bad for them :)
Thankful for these dear friends! Let's start planning our next weekend :)
