rolls + eggs
On Saturday we made resurrection rolls and dyed Easter eggs. The rolls are a great illustration for the boys and they loved this little project. Grayson even remembered it from last year. A fun little family afternoon!
It's empty! He is risen!

Easter
I thought we were going to be gone almost all of March, so we started doing Easter stuff at at the end of February. One of our trips ended up getting cancelled, so we had a lot more time at home to do Easter crafts and baking than I originally thought.
I really feel like Grayson has learned why we celebrate Easter this year. It's the sweetest thing to hear him exclaim "Jesus is not dead. He is ALIVE!" We serve a living God!
we know that Christ, being raised from the dead, will never die again; death no longer has dominion over him. Romans 6:9

resurrection rolls
This is the first year we've tried baking the popular resurrection rolls. I used this simple recipe. Any kind of visual is so helpful in teaching (especially a three year old) and the end result being a yummy snack doesn't hurt either :)
We read the crucifixion story, made the rolls, and then read the resurrection story while they baked. The marshmallow represents Jesus and how they put oils (melted butter) and spices (cinnamon sugar) and then placed him in the tomb (rolling up the dough). After they bake, the marshmallow is gone and the roll is empty representing how Jesus defeated the grave and is risen. He's alive today! I love this so much!

Easter fun
I'm glad there is a holiday to celebrate our risen Lord. So thankful that tomb is empty!
I love themed stuff and we've had fun the past couple of weeks doing some little Easter themed things. Here's some pictures of some of the stuff we did...
Easter sprinkles on everything we baked! G loves sprinkles as much as I do :)
We volunteered at the Clemson egg hunt. It was a great event!
