Chad and I headed to Greensboro on Saturday to meet the Shulers and attend Winter Jam 2011. A couple of months ago, they invited us to join them there and we had really been looking forward to it. It was great to spend a little time with the newlyweds. We are so blessed to call them friends.
Chad and I got to spend lots of time in the car together that day, driving to Raleigh for the Krispy Kreme Challenge that morning then to Greensboro that afternoon.
Rance and Jennifer hooked us up with VIP tickets which was super exciting. We got to bypass the regular line that had thousands of people standing in it (in the cold) and go right in! The VIP tickets meant we got to go in about an hour before everyone else so we were able to get awesome seats.
We were about the 6th row back on the floor.
We were able to see Newsboys, David Crowder Band, Kutless, Red, Francesca Battistelli, NewSong, KJ-52, Sidewalk Prophets, Chris August, Chris Sligh (from American Idol) and hear Tony Nolan Speak.
The pictures I took below of some of the performers show you how close we were.

Crowder was our favorite, but we are most familiar with his music. It was just so incredible to worship with 21,000 other people. A privilege I definitely try to not take for granted. I'm so thankful for the body of Christ.
The Newsboys finished out Winter Jam and during their set they played Jesus Freak (the lead singer of Newsboys is Michael Tait who used to be part of DC Talk). They had a pretty wild and cool performance. I recorded a little video for my brother. We used to rock out to DC Talk back in the day (and Geoff Moore and the Distance, anyone else listen to them?).
This is for you Scott...
