elephant ride

In our new city there are some elephants that walk around. Not going to lie, this is pretty exciting to me. On our 2nd day here, we got to meet one of them.

(and no... I didn't have the zoom lens :)
Right after this was snapped, the elephant flapped his ears and whacked me with it. It scared me to death.
The elephant would lay down on the ground (not an easy process for him) and then stand up and take you on a ride. You had to just jump up into the basket, which was a HUGE jump/climb. He certainly didn't wait for you to get seated and comfortable either. Chad was hanging from the basket and had to pull himself up while the elephant walked away. It was pretty comical.
 This elephant is SOOO tall!
Laying down to let me on
Getting down was a little scary. It felt like I was completely being dumped off.
So glad that even though we won't have a car, we still have a way to get around :)

I really think ya'll are trying to try out for the circus. You have got to work on your facial expressions though! You can't show fear! Or maybe you are starting the Ferrell Fair. I love your pictures...so good. Just can't imagine seeing all of that in person. Love you and miss you.
