I'm not sure exactly when or how it happened, but my husband (and by default, me) has become a bit of a coffee snob. Neither of us liked coffee until the end of our college years. Even then we (I) put so much stuff in it that it wasn't really coffee. Chad drinks his coffee black, and has for the past 4 years. He would thank his friend Tyler Boone for that. But I have put 1 Splenda in my coffee for the past 3-4 years (I'm not sure why I'm telling you all this). Just since we have moved to India have I started drinking my coffee black. We didn't have Splenda when we got here and so I just didn't use it. Mom sent me a bunch of packets, but by then I was already converted. I'll never go back.
In the past month we have acquired quite a nice coffee stash. It's nice to know we are well stocked and can consume as much coffee as we want without rationing it out. We don't consume that much...1-2 mugs per day. It is definitely a quality over quantity thing... unlike some of our friends (adam) :)
We are loving the amount of coffee we have considering none of it is from this side of the world.
For years, we just brewed our coffee with a good old coffee pot. Which we still like! But now, our coffee goes through a different process on a daily basis.
Chad gets our coffee beans out of a sealed container (that is as hidden from sunlight as it can get in our no cabinet/closet home). He then grinds enough beans each morning just for that day. Then he heats some water and pours it through this little manual drip coffee maker, so he can get the exact extraction of the coffee beans that he wants.
So here is an open invitation to come have coffee with us :) We have plenty to share and Chad would love to fix you a cup!

So glad you have plenty of coffee now - love seeing that Polish Pottery mug! (And as a mom, I always check your eye - it looks GREAT - the scar is sooo much lighter!!!)
ahahahahha awesome. yes adam would gladly take a venti intravenous drip. and he is quite jealous of your coffee stash!
I'll be by tomorrow!!
I would love too! Love the mug.
haha!! Somehow this coffee thing has happened to Kevin too - and was happening to me until I had to cut out the caffeine. Although with us, I'm the one that drinks it black. Maybe I should send Kevin to India so Chad can convert him ;)
Ha ha! Cute post. I am obviously a mom too.....cause I'm always checking your eye too! I agree it looks GREAT!
Two Christmases ago my dad got Bobby a coffee-bean roaster. We save lots of money on the beans, and he freshly roasts beans every 3 days or so. Then he grinds them & makes coffee. Talk about being a picky coffee drinker, now he thinks that Starbucks coffee is just "okay"! Anyway, I recommend getting a coffee roaster. It does make great coffee!
Love, Lindsay Wood
Haha, were you trying to make sure I read your blog? I guess I got to make sure I read everyones blogs to find these nice snide comments. I actually prefer quality and quantity. Hope you like the Ethiopian coffee!
