Grayson: 9 months

9 months!
Grayson is seeming like such a little boy and less of a baby these days.
At his 9 month check-up he weighs 21.4 pounds and is 27.5 inches long.

He is wearing mostly 12 month clothes but moving into some 18 month stuff as well.

He has 6 teeth. 4 on the top and 2 on the bottom.

Grayson sleeps from about 8:30pm- 7am and takes two naps during the day. We are still struggling with sleep. He is still waking up several times during the night, although not awake for very long each time. But since he has been in our room, when he is awake, we are awake. I don't know if he started waking up because he is so much more active now, or if it is because we have slept in 8 places over the last month and he is not adjusting well. He is also not going down for naps easily. We are going to do some sleep training in the next few weeks once we get settled and hopefully this will improve.

He still nurses 4 times a day and eats 2-3 solid food meals a day. He likes most foods except peas and applesauce. He gags when we try to to give him those. He will swat the spoon when he is done eating and make a huge mess. Just this weekend I saw a glimmer of hope with communicating through sign language (instead of spoon swatting) after 3 months of signing "more" and "all done".
I started putting some pieces of food down in front of him for him to feed himself this past week. Here is a video of the first time he fed himself banana. It's amazing how much better he has gotten in one week. His pincher grasp has improved a lot and he can get food straight in his mouth.

He is crawling everywhere and he is FAST.

G is still pulling up on everything and he is getting braver to walk along furniture. He loves to walk with people as he holds on to their hands. I'm not ready for him to walk. We tell everyone not to help him and to push him down because we're not ready :)

He puts his arm straight out towards stuff as if to say "take me there" or "I want that"

Grayson makes such silly faces. His cheesin' face and scrunchy face are his favorites.
He has been kind of reserved around some of the dogs we have been around this month. I think their jumpy, hyper personalities scare him a bit. We are getting ready to move into a house with 2 (big) dogs, so he better learn to love them!

He likes to talk but still mostly says "ba" and "ma" sounds. He has started saying "ball" and often times uses it in the right context.

Grayson LOVES people. Can you be an extrovert at 9 months? I totally think he is. He loves to be around people. He will go to anyone that will pick him up, and he doesn't mind at all being in the nursery or with babysitters. I really hope this continues.
Our boy is tough. He bumps his head and it doesn't seem to phase him.

I think he might be right handed. He uses it way more than his left hand.

New tricks (that he will sometimes perform): waving bye bye, clapping, noises with his mouth

He loves: sitting on Daddys shoulders, bath time, going for walks

Jeans and a Tshirt - looks like such a big boy!! Love the feeding video - why use hands if it is close enough to go for! Love him!!

I definitely think he is an extrovert. I've never seen such a smiley, happy baby! It's like he knows how adorable he is and wants to share it with everyone. :)

1. Is he really 9 months already? Same time in as out now!
2. I love the part in the video where he tries to put his face straight to the banana. Seems way more efficient ;)
3. Love the scrunchie face. B does that one too :)
4. Yikes, he looks like such a toddler in those blue jeans. Watch out mama!
