moving and our first home

This is a random mess of a bunch of moving/house related pictures from the past few months. And it's long and wordy, but I will have it documented :)

We have now been living in Clemson for about one month and we are thrilled (THRILLED!) to be in our own home and getting settled. I feel like it's taken lots of time and probably longer than a normal/typical move would take. Combine the fact that we had stuff from a four room townhouse and now are filling a seven-ish room house (and had gotten rid of a lot of stuff), have added a child since we last lived anywhere, bought a house that needs some love/deep cleaning... and it's just taken us time. We are slowly getting projects completed, shopping for stuff we need and getting stuff organized and put in place.

Our stuff was for the most part packed pretty well, thankfully. But there had been some boxes and stuff we had had to go thru and pull out of since we got back from India. So there was a lot of small, unorganized boxes/bags too. And that stuff is a pain to move. Here is how our stuff looked in my parents house over the past 3 years.
That is our piles of stuff overtaking their bonus room, garage and one of their crawl spaces.

And this was on moving day after we had pulled a lot of it out of the crawl space and packed up all the stuff we've lived off of/used over the past two years. Ahhh! This was all waiting to be taken downstairs to the moving truck.
We rented a 26 foot truck to pack all of our stuff in. Not really sure if we would fill it up or hardly fill it up. But thankfully we got the big one because we needed the space. Our families were WONDERFUL with helping us get packed up. We could not have done it without them. From keeping Grayson, to moving lots of stuff, cleaning, helping us paint furniture, watching G while we shopped for furniture, I could go on and on. So helpful!
They also were great to keep Grayson for 3 days while we came down and got things unpacked and as settled/set up as we could. The Ferrells then brought Grayson down, helped us get a few things done and then the day they left my mom came for a few days and helped with lots of projects,  cleaned, motivated me to unpack more boxes and entertained Grayson. They were such a huge help! THANK YOU!
We had a couple of men who worked HARD on our house while we were gone over the summer. They were/are a huge blessing to us. They made it possible for us to be able to move in when we got back. Lots and lots of hours of painting,  electrical work, overseeing floors and cabinet work and other little projects. So thankful for their servant hearts.

It took us 3.5 weeks of living here before we got countertops and a kitchen sink (grrrrr Lowes). So that was an adjustment. But now we are fully functional! We got pretty use to washing/soaking dishes in the tub or out back with the hose before throwing them in the dishwasher, or having the crockpot going on the coffee table or mixing in the kitchen floor...
Here are some before and afters of the rooms that have gotten the most updating...

kitchen
den
(it's too bad you can't really see the green ceiling from before)
living room/dining room
(the pictures are from different sides of the room... oops)
and here's the front...
We still have lots to do... like get living room furniture and dining room chairs. This is how we currently host groups :)
And all these projects, G has found a love for doing "work" with Chad.
I found him on the ladder one day drilling the door/ and then they were modeling with their tape measures.
Have I mentioned how much we love our house and being settled? We are so excited to have people over for meals, have playdates where Grayson has to share HIS toys, and have people come stay. So here's your invitation! The guest room is all set up... come visit Clemson :)
