scenes from the weekend

We had a weekend with very few plans. I'm beginning to learn the ebb and flow of life/schedules based on the college calendar and I'm trying to enjoy these low-key January/February days before things pick up come March. We were able to get some stuff checked off a to-do list (pictured below: locking Bowen out of the pantry (he'll have to find a new hobby) and FINALLY transferring our car to SC)

Here's some of our weekend...

pancakes for breakfast
Friday was so rainy! We stayed in most of the day. Grayson wanted to read to Bowen... and to my surprise, Bowen sat and listened for over 5 minutes. They aren't this still for long!

Grilled cheese and tomato soup (Tara's special recipe) are definitely a go-to for cold, rainy days.
this little scavenger searching for every last crumb...
Bowen has picked up a love for this fishing game lately... and does it surprisingly well!
and every box delivered (big or small) must become a rocket ship
Smoothie time when Chad gets home a lot of afternoons.
We checked out the crazy full lake on Saturday morning while Chad played paintball with some friends.
And then spent a while at the playground... which was so different/easier with Bowen being a walker!
Pendleton to hang out and eat dinner
These little fellas headed to church on Sunday...
Tried a royal icing recipe for the first time. I have much to learn, but thought it was fun!
dinner at James and Amy's... delicious Chinese food!
