Grayson: 3 and a quarter

These quarterly updates have been good for me over the past year. Things I think I won't forget or that seem never-ending at the time... I go back and read and am amazed at what he's stopped doing or saying.

So here we go, a little of Grayson at 3 and a quarter...
He is about 35 pounds and wearing 4T tops and 3T bottoms. Size 10 shoe.

We've struggled with ear infections since he turned three. He's had 4 and we've been to an ENT twice over the past months to monitor him. They currently don't think he needs tubes, but think it may have been all one ear infection that never got cleared up. He got an antibiotic shot on the 4th ear infection, and that seems to have knocked it out.

He's a great, hard sleeper. He goes to bed around 8 at night and wakes up around 7am. He stays in his bed each morning until 7:30 when his green light comes on.

He is currently napping maybe 50% of the time. Majority of the days he gets in his bed for nap, but just sings and talks on his bed for about 2 hours. Thankfully, he's happy and content most days. I think the down time is good for us all... me especially :) I'm thinking through "rest time" options, as opposed to nap time... but will probably just leave him doing what he's doing until it isn't working anymore. Maybe it's just a phase and he'll start napping again.

He loves to nickname things, and make up silly words. We say "don't say things that aren't words" a lot.

He likes to do crafts. Painting and play doh are favorites these days.

He also likes to say things like "hey poopy". We also say "you may not say potty words" quite frequently. Boys.

He really can be so helpful and sweet to Bowen. He gets aggravated when Bowen messes up stuff he's working on/playing with. "Mommy, get him pleasssssee!!!"

He only sleeps with his blanket now- "blanks"

Lego Duplos are a current favorite and he can sit and play with them for a while.

He currently likes to watch Chuggington and Daniel Tiger.

He still bites his bottom lip all the time.

Things he says...

"I want three, because I'm three"... when referring to m&m's, stickers, books to read...

"I want eggs with the juice for breakfast"... fried eggs

When he wants to do something he knows Bowen will mess up "I think Bowen's ready to go down for his nap. He sounds fussy."

"Hey, Mommy! I've got a great idea!"

"Woah! Look at these muscles. When did I get so strong?"

"Dear Jesus, for the food. Amen" It doesn't matter how many times we have told him to put a "thank you" in there, or that we aren't eating when he says that prayer. That's his prayer. Every time.

"look at that tree, it's winding!"... anything blowing in the wind

"does that sound like a plan?"

loves: being outside, Chick-fil-a, playing with his friends, playing in the bath, painting, play-doh, going on "adventures", his "blanks", eating, reading books, wearing his pj's

It's crazy how much he's changed (mostly in vocabulary) since a year ago at this time!

Oh man, we have so much fun together. He brings much joy to our family!
