It's been a great month for us! Getting settled, finding routine and consistency has helped with setting boundaries and expectations. There have been less fits, frustration and tears... though of course we still have our moments :)
G has started putting 2 words together much more this month. His favorite/ most repeated sayings are "hold you", "have it?", "find it", and "all better!"
He loves to go on a date. Multiple times a day he will ask for a snack and say "Mommy date?" which basically means lets sit together and eat.
After a few weeks of waking up soaking wet every morning, we started using overnight diapers and they have worked great for him.
G gives himself talks/ has conversations with himself. The most common one is "hit? push? NO... LOVE!" He often says this as he is falling asleep at night. He really doesn't have much of a problem with hitting and pushing but it's like he wants to remind himself frequently.
He has started talking for 15ish minutes or more before he falls asleep. We sit and laugh as we listen on the monitor to what he is saying.
He loves to pretend to talk on the phone and will often walk around pretending to talk on his play phones.
G and his his best buddy Andrew have started wrestling and and tackling a lot more this month. It's so fun to watch the "boy-ness" come out in them.
He has an incredible memory. He can tell me where the turns are to get to our neighborhood, or about something Pop Pop did 3 months ago. If we see a white car he says "Nana!" because he knows her car is white or a van he says "Nona!" And he always relates corn to Aunt Anne and that's been months!
He is still repeating everything.
He loves keys, being outside, sticks, animals, tractors and helping us (especially Daddy do work, mow, use tools).
He frequently will sing us made up songs.
He sometimes watches Curious George and baby Einstein.
G has started listing names as we pray with him. Right now he always lists "Andrew, Rett, Josh and Ree-Ree"
He is still generally a great eater and sometimes will amaze us with what he will eat (we've been surprised as he downs grilled portobello, brussels sprouts, hummus...). But some of his favorites right now are cereal, apples, cantaloupe, and wraps of any kind.
He has become attached to a blanket and elephant stuffed animal (blanket and hathi). This happened over the summer while Chad was gone... but he has continued wanting them when he sleeps.
And here are a few pictures with one of his favorite outside toys... a squirt bottle.
